About

who is holding the pen

Kevin von Atzigen is a banking operator and venture builder in Dallas. Building systems, growing people, and letting the work compound.

I grew up in Perrin, Texas, where folks knew your name and your truck. You waved from the wheel at every pickup you passed, y'all was in every other sentence, and if you got in trouble the news was home before you were. I always knew I'd end up in a city. At the University of North Texas I changed majors a handful of times, working through computer science, biology, public relations, and business before landing on sociology and real estate. The detour was the point. It gave me a way to think about how people organize and how markets move. I'm based in Dallas now. It feels exactly right.

Every role is different but the question underneath has always been the same: what makes the system work, and what makes it break? The answer is always the people inside it. Build the people and the system holds. Skip them and nothing else matters.

Work

the operating bench

Building capability inside institutions. Launching ventures outside them. Systems thinking connecting both. Inside the bank: an accelerated path from college graduate to middle market banker, now the company's standard route into commercial banking across 13 markets, and one sequenced curriculum replacing fragmented training from 8+ internal stakeholders.

Outside it: ventures across emergency preparedness, AI-powered narrative games, financial research tools, running, and local business networks. The paid ones hold the Ventures ridge on this survey; the rest are marked where they live.
